📍 Activity 1 – Create a School Map

1. Draw a map of your school including all the main areas.
   I will walk around my school and note the locations of the building, playground, garden, and water tanks. Then, I will draw a map showing all these and label the school gate and pathways. This will help me see my school in a new way.

✍️ Write

1. What do I really like about my school?
   I really like my school because it is clean, my friends are there, and I enjoy learning new things with my teachers. I feel safe and cared for. That makes my school special for me.
2. How can I make my school greener?
   I will plant more trees and take care of the plants. I will not litter and use dustbins for waste. I will also try to save water and electricity every day at school.
3. If there is any difficulty at school, whom do I talk to?
   If I face any problem, I will speak to my teacher or the headmistress. I can also tell a friend or my school counselor. They will surely help me feel better and find a solution.

👀 School Explorer Teams Activity

Each team checks different things. Here are the sample answers:

1. Electricity Savers – Are fans/lights on unnecessarily?
   I noticed some fans were running even after the class was empty. I will remind others to switch them off when not in use.
2. Water Watchers – Are taps leaking?
   I saw one tap in the washroom dripping. I will inform the teacher or school staff so it can be fixed to save water.
3. Waste Warriors – Where do you find litter? Are bins being used?
   I saw litter near the sports ground. Some students were not using the bins. I will tell them kindly and make a poster about clean surroundings.
4. Green Guardians – Are there trees and birds?
   There are many trees and I saw butterflies near the flowers! I will help water these plants and protect the greenery in school.
5. Traffic Trackers – What happens near the school gate?
   I noticed some drivers were rushing outside the gate. I will make a safety sign and suggest zebra lines for safer crossing.

♻️ Waste and Recycling

1. What color bin is used for...
   Dry waste: Blue bin.
   Wet waste: Green bin.
2. What does your school give to recyclers?
   Our school gives old notebooks, newspapers, and broken cardboard boxes to recyclers. I will also learn more about what else can be reused.
3. What items do your parents give to recyclers?
   My parents give old clothes, plastic bottles, newspapers, and broken items. I will ask which items go to which recycler.

🚰 Water Watching

1. What are some easy ways to prevent water wastage at school?
   I will make sure all taps are closed properly after use and report any leaks. I will also teach my friends how to save water during handwashing and cleaning.
2. How can you collect and use rainwater at home or school?
   I will keep large clean containers to collect rainwater. This water can be used to water plants or clean corridors without using tap water.

🌳 Trees and Cooling

1. Name the trees near your school.
   I have seen neem, banyan, gulmohar, and mango trees near our school. I love sitting under their shade.
2. What birds/insects have you seen near trees?
   I saw butterflies, sparrows, bees, and squirrels among the trees. They make our school feel alive and vibrant.
3. What will happen if you paint your roof white?
   White reflects sunlight, so it will make classrooms cooler. I will tell my teachers about this idea for reducing heat in summer.

🚦 Road & Fire Safety

1. Write three traffic rules.
   1. Always walk on the footpath. 2. Cross at the zebra line. 3. Follow traffic signals and stop when needed. I will follow these and ask others to too.
2. Fire Safety: Where is the fire extinguisher placed in your school?
   It is kept near the staircase and in the staff room. I learned how to access it safely during the fire drill.
3. Where is the assembly point?
   Our school playground is our assembly point. I will always rush there calmly during emergencies.
4. What should you do if there is fire or smoke?
   I will not panic, move to the exit quickly, and help others safely. I will also inform my teacher and never go back inside the building.

📝 Let Us Reflect & Write

1. Which classroom is the nicest and why?
   I like my own classroom the most because it's clean, well-lit, and we have a plant corner that we take care of. It feels peaceful and cheerful.
2. Write a letter to your teacher on “My School – My Happy Place”.
   I will write about how I love the green spaces, smiling friends, kind teachers, and fun activities. My school is where I feel safe, respected, and happy every day.
3. What actions would you extend to your neighborhood?
   I will plant trees, manage waste, and tell neighbors not to waste water. Making our area neat and green will help everyone enjoy a better life.
4. Write a diary as a wheelchair student/sanitation worker/other student.
   Today, I noticed that ramps helped me enter most classrooms, but some were crowded. I felt proud to be treated with kindness and helped by classmates. I hope all spaces become more inclusive.
5. You are principal for a day — what 3 changes will you make?
   I will add more trees around the grounds, ensure every class has a dustbin, and organize fun learning sessions every week. I will also start a "green monitor" in each class.

🎤 Speech, Survey & Role-play

1. One-minute speech on “My Dream School”.
   My dream school has big green gardens, helpful teachers, and no child is left behind. Everyone feels happy, respected, and safe. Every student helps keep the school clean and peaceful.
2. Survey: Ask 5 students + 1 teacher – What makes them happy in school?
   Most students said playing and friendships made them happy. One wanted cleaner washrooms. I learned that kindness, safety, and a fun space mean a lot to everyone.
